Biofuels certificates consist of digital certificates that represent a quantity of Biodiesel or Bioethanol mixed and distributed with gasoil and gasoline respectively. These certificates are assigned by a regulatory entity subsequent to an audit. Apart from this way of accounting and control of mixed quantities, they also work as liquidity instruments in the market, allowing agents that due to conjunctural or physical restraints cannot mix the required amount to comply with their blending obligation.

Compulsory Stock Obligation

The CSO Tickets (Compulsory Stock Obligation) are agreements according to which one part agrees to rent a part of the counterparty stock (debtor), in exchange of a previously agreed price. The debtor has the option of receiving the physical stock under prearranged conditions if it is requested by the regulatory agency.

The platform provides the possibility of creating indicative orders, which the counterparty can show interest but will not be binding until the acceptance by the creator of the order.

The key terms in a contract concern:

• Stock bidder: Any agent that desires to rent stock.
• Stock offeror: Any agent that has enough stock.
• Product: Gasoline, Gasoil, Aviation Gasoline, Motor Gasoline, Jet Fuel, Kerosene, Gas/diesel oil (distillate fuel oil), Fuel oil, Crude oil, Pet coke.
• Stock location: The stock location will have to be chosen in the platform. Besides, the counterparty location will have to be chosen as well.
• Stock quantity: Quantity in Tm
• Duration: Period by which the rental is active
• Fee of Rental (expressed in euros per month per metric ton of stock)

The markets for raw materials for the production of biodiesel are part of the production cycle of such. Nacata is present in the market with a main focus on raw materials valid for the production of double counting biofuel.
